Nuvanta Manufacturing
Works orders, BOM, MRP and stock — built around how your factory actually runs, posting straight into your finance system.
See it runningYour finance system was never going to run the factory
iplicit and Sage do the ledgers well. But works orders live in a spreadsheet. The BOM lives in Access. MRP is someone’s Monday morning. Stock takes are a quarterly ordeal. Every job is keyed twice — once on the floor, once into finance.
Packaged manufacturing ERP goes the other way: months of implementation to force your process into someone else’s data model, per-seat licences, and the quirks that make your business work flagged as “customisation” at day rates.
Nuvanta Manufacturing is the third option. An operations platform built around your process, live in weeks, with your finance system untouched underneath it.
Capabilities
Bill of materials
Multi-level (finished goods → sub-assemblies → components), with rolled-up costing, where-used enquiry, and mixes by percentage and weight.
Dimensional stock
Buy in one unit, consume in another. Cubic metres in, linear metres out, pieces sold. Conversion rules per product, with real waste tracked against nominal lengths.
Works orders and routing
Job cards, machine-lane planning board, secondary operations, partial completion with materials consumed proportionally per stage rule.
Stage-based consumption
Materials consumed where they’re actually used. Timber at the saw; fixings at final assembly. The stock figure means something.
MRP
Demand exploded through the BOM against on-hand and on-order, over a rolling horizon. Shortfalls flagged. Raise the PO from the screen.
Warehouse
Barcoding and labelling, handheld scanning, goods-in, transfers, issue-to-line-side and back-flush.
Stock take
Zone by zone, live variance against system, adjustment posted with a full log. No spreadsheet round-trip.
Purchasing
POs from MRP or raised manually, approval workflow with a logged bypass for nominated users.
Finance stays the ledger
Nuvanta Manufacturing posts to iplicit or Sage 50. Sales and purchase invoices flow down after three-way match, with GL and cost-centre mapping. Aged debt and overdue-invoice status flow back, so credit decisions happen at order entry.
Reporting runs through Power BI or Qlik, with a live connection — plus chat-to-data if you want to ask the system questions instead of building reports.
In production
Built for and proven with a timber components manufacturer: a 412-product finished-goods catalogue, a three-level BOM of ~2,900 lines, 139 stocked components, and MRP across a live sales order book. Migrated off Pegasus Opera and a bespoke shop-floor app.
How it lands
- 1
Scoping
On-site workshops. Your process, your data, your priorities, MoSCoW’d into phases.
- 2
Core deployment
The Nuvanta Manufacturing core configured to your routing, BOM structure and units.
- 3
Your specifics
The rules that make your business yours, built in. This is the part packaged software calls "customisation". We call it the point.
- 4
Migration and training
Master data in, hard cutover, hypercare at go-live.
- 5
Run
Monthly service: hosting, monitoring, backups, support, and a roadmap.
A typical Nuvanta Manufacturing programme runs 15 to 35 days depending on scope — a Phase 1 operational core (sales, purchasing, stock, dispatch, core planning) sits at the lower end; full production, quality and warehouse scope at the upper. Unlimited users. No per-seat licences.
Built for dimensional and made-to-order manufacturing
Timber and joinery. Plastics and moulding. Steel, cable and anything sold by the metre. Machine and equipment builders. If your product has a BOM and your stock has more than one unit of measure, this is for you.
